          Pandemic school year has never been easy for everyone. Students, teachers, parents and other people involved in teaching and learning process face challenges which are not easy to resolve because they need to always consider the safe and healthy protocol being implemented by the IATF (International Agency Task Force). The difficulties encountered by the students in this pandemic school year resulted them to drop from school and stop schooling. In addition, it resulted an increase of the dropout percentage of the school. With this, KAPIT Program team identified the LARDO (Learning AT Risks of Dropping Out) early. Also, they identified all possible reasons why the students declared as LARDO by the class advisers in coordination with the subject teachers. Some of the main problem encountered by them is the financial status and difficulties in answering their modules alone.

         In the year 3 of KAPIT Program, it will help and guide the class advisers and subject teachers to make necessary and appropriate intervention to the students identify as LARDO. In is in the process of presenting the suggested intervention/ flow of intervention that will be suitable for the problem of the students.

KAPIT Program

(Kakayahang Abutin ang Pangarap dahil sa mga Interbensyon ni Titser)

Objectives

This program aims to decrease the percentage of the dropout rate of the school in the current school year, specifically it sought to:

  1. Decrease the dropout rate of the students from 2.30% of the last school year to 0.05%

  2. Increase the achievement level of the identified Learner’s At Risk of Dropping Out

  3. Make suitable and fitted interventions to the LARDO that will help them not to quit from school

  4. Involve the parents and subject teachers with the adviser on regular monitoring of the performance of the LARDO.

  5. Intensify the guidelines, procedures and requirements before the students are declared as Drop-Out.

Pre-implementation

The grade level chief advisers presented the flow and process of intervention to the grade level advisers and subject teachers so that it is clear for everyone the tasks that they need to do or to accomplish. The Chief Advisers also explained to them the importance of the intervention that they are being presented to them.

Implementation

The class advisers and the subject teachers identified their LARDO (Learner’s at Risk of Dropping Out) through their weekly monitoring of the output being submitted by the guardians and parents.

Post-implementation

The data shows that the total enrollment of the school is 4, 518 for SY 2021 – 2022 from Grade 7 students to Grade 12 students. It is also shows that there are 1.44% or 65 students recorded dropped. It implies that the number of dropped out decreased at 1.58% or 30 students from the last school year which means that the intervention made by the teachers are effective.
