(Mentoring for a Thriving Action Research In Classrooms)
Project MATARIC
Teachers in different learning areas come across innumerable challenges, struggles, and changes that need to be addressed for learners’ optimum development. Action research could be an effective tool in addressing problems concerning the teaching-learning process. It is a way to continually innovate and learn by utilizing a person’s undertakings. Moreover, it makes powerful connections among policy, practice, and student achievement and development. As Jensen (2012) emphasized, one of the effective Professional Development (PD) strategies for teachers is conducting action research that focuses on instruction.
In connection to this, the MATARIC team believes that through action research we can find a solution to our problems in terms of the teaching process, governance, leadership, and so forth.
Objectives

To build understanding on the significance of action research as a key to replenishing and innovating learning.

To identify problems that are commonly experienced in the classroom and to collaboratively formulate solutions.

To utilize action research as a material in addressing existing problems in the teaching-learning process.

To profoundly engage classroom teachers/researchers of doing research and encourage them to impart their expertise, thus also serve as their avenue to continuously build a professional community shaping mindful minds.

To generate innovations that will further improve instructional methodologies and reinforce and widen the culture of excellence through the implementation of MATARIC “Mentoring for A thriving Action Research in Classroom.”
The MATARIC Project accomplished eleven (11) action research proposals from school year 2020-2021. Also have five (5) under process / working action research proposals from Mathematics, EsP, and Senior High School Department The table below are the title of action research and the researchers:

The Team MATARIC have a conversation planning through group chat and one-on-one video call. Their planning aside from the usual consultation process of research is having a presentation of research paper through round table or mini booth presentataiton , to share the complete action research to the teachers by accessing of their Elected Journal which means Electronic and Printed journal action researh and to organize a writing-workshop seminar in resarch by year 2022.
Consultations/ Follow-up sessions
Mrs. Maria L. Fajardo, SHS Coordinator have a follow- up session together with the SHS Researchers. She shares the updates on research that she attended last December 1, 2021, entitled Division Webinar on Research Ethics and Integrity.
Creation of PLC Research Team
Mrs. Siony A. Lat, JHS Research Coordinator, as part of her action research study entitled “Establishing Professional Learning Communities Amid Covid 19 Pandemic: Spotlight on PLC – Action Research Team, she creates a PLC Research Team from JHS Researchers last November 10,2021 from 3:00 -5:00 o’clock in the afternoon. It is consonance to strengthening action research culture in DMDPNHS.
