Pursuant to RA 10121 known as The Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2001. Institutionalizing the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Plan, appropriating funds thereof and for other purposes.

DepEd Order 21, s. 2015 Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Coordination and Information Management Protocol and DepEd Order No. 50, s. 2011 entitled Creation of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO), which mandates the said office to initiate and spearhead the establishment of mechanisms which prepare, guarantee protection, and increase resiliency of the Department of Education (DepEd) constituents in the face of disaster.

DMDPNHS as learner centered institution adhere to the Implementation of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Services to general safety of DMDPNHS personnel, learners and all other stake holders. Furthermore, practice the Climate Change Adaptation in response to the global issue on global warming thru empowerment of human resources (DepEd Personnel, Learners and Stake Holders) and to lessen the impact of human and natural induce phenomena leading to a disaster.

To address the capacity buildings for DMDPNHS learners amidst of the COVID-19 Pandemic, production and distribution of Education in Emergencies (EiE) Materials as an effective tool for information is another key aspect of the Dr. Maria D. Pastrana National High School.

Project LIGTAS

General objectives:

Provide safe Learning environment that is conducive for learning while practicing the high level of program on Disaster Risk reduction and management/ climate change adaptation/ and education in emergency.
Strengthen effective School Disaster Risk Reduction Management Plan (SDRRMP) to mitigate natural and man- made calamity including COVID 19 pandemic.
Contribute to the welfare and development of learners, stake holders and deped personnel DMDPNHS in terms of DRRM implementation, achieving the goal of our school.

Objectives

Guided by the DepEd Core Values: Maka-Diyos, Maka-Tao, Maka-Kalikasan at Maka-Bansa, Dr. Maria D. Pastrana National High School Action Plan aims to attain the following:

Specific Objectives:

Organized Student Led watching team that responsible for engagement of learners in identifying and addressing hazards and risks in the school.
Updating of installed Covid 19 safety warning signage in the school.
Updating of the School DRRM Team and other sub-committee under the DRRM Organizational Chart
Conduct Annual Electrical and Fire safety and building Inspection
Enhancement of Disaster Preparedness Measures in DMDPNHS during; Emergency Drills such as Earthquake and Fire.
Strengthening the Cooperation and Coordination with the following schools Coordinators (Brigada Eskwela, School Property, Health, PTA) for coordinated DRRM/CCA/EiE project implementation and other concern on safety.
Create a school communication protocol during emergency and other template for personnel tracking during typhoon and other emergencies leading to a disaster.

For Year 2020 – 2021, almost 100 percent of objectives are accomplished. In this year 2021 – 2022, based from the School Calendar Plan of activities of DMDPNHS SDRRM, 25 percent of target plan are already implemented and executed.
